The Great Race on Route 66 TV show will air Saturday, December 10, at 6 a.m. Eastern time on Velocity television network. It is the premiere showing of the 2015 event from Kirkwood, Missouri to Santa Monica, California. The one-hour special chronicles the highs and lows of more than 100 teams in their vintage automobiles as they rally along much of historic Route 66 for more than $150,000 through seven states. Velocity is home to most of the great automobile-related shows, including our friend Wayne Carinis Chasing Classic Cars, Wheeler Dealer, Overhaulin and Unique Rides. The Great Race has been working with Velocity since the demise of the Speed network several years ago to get the show aired.
The 2016 Great Race TV show is also scheduled to run on Velocity in February, and more information will be available soon as to the date and time. The 2016 event started in San Rafael, California and ended in Moline, Illinois.
The show will be available on the Great Race site and YouTube after the airing.
Velocity is the number one non-sports network, and it drew more than 34.7 million live viewers of the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale in January.
