The warm weather in this part of the country has made everyone think summer is here, and that is not far from the truth. And, like all good old car lovers, I associate summer with the Great Race.
With the Great Race less than 100 days away, we are working very hard at event headquarters to make this the most memorable rally ever. And as part of that task, we have been working with government officials to make the entry into Canada and the re-entry into the United States as painless as possible.
One of several avenues we have pursued is Corky Cokers good friend, United States Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee. We had a meeting this week with the Senators staff about preparing U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security for our event. Betsy Ranalli, the State Operations Manager for Senator Corker, and Kelly Puckett, his Constituent Services Representative, were very helpful and are busy getting our information into the right hands.
I have also been working with folks in the Premier of Ontarios office. Premier Dalton McGuinty has been invited to attend one of seven stops in Ontario, and his people are working on their end to make your visit to Canada as much fun as possible.
We will be passing on checklists for you to know how to prepare in the coming weeks
Of course, you must have your passport to enter either country, but beyond that we are working to make sure that everything associated with your trip goes as smoothly as possible.
