As we motored up the road toward Canada, our overnight dinner stop was held at the locks in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, a very short distance from the United States and Canada border. The town went all out to accommodate the racers and Great Race staff, by setting up for a live band, as well as several great options for food! The route into Sault Sainte Marie certainly offered some cool backroads, and more great views of the lakes, so we enjoyed our drive, and hope for more of the same tomorrow! We’ll get up bright and early to cross the border and get that out of the way, so the racers can get down to business as soon as possible! Keep an eye on our Facebook page to see up-to-the minute updates, as long as we have cell phone service or internet connectivity! That’s it for day one…check out our pictures!
