Each year, Rich McKone gets focused on the Great Race by attending another well-known event — the Indianapolis 500. And each year McKone and his wife, Cynthia, attended the winners banquet and they get their photos made with the trophy, the winning car and the winning driver. Bet they never thought they would be getting their photo made with Alexander Rossi and his car when they woke up Sunday morning. Now that the 500 is over, McKone, from Peoria, Illinois can focus 100 percent on getting his 1936 Ford to victory lane in the Great Race. He and his driver, Charlie Brittingham of Jasper, Indiana are just one of more than 100 teams who will be gunning for the 2016 Great Race title and the $50,000 check for winning.
The race starts Saturday, June 18, in San Rafael, California and finishes nine days later on Sunday, June 26, in Moline, Illinois.
Woo-hoo! Looking good!
Nice!!! See you in San Rafael.
Alexander Rossi is a “local boy” from Nevada City/Grass Valley/Penn Valley, CA, where we live. Excitement over his win is HUGE here…and oh so proud!
