Day 4 of the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Coker Tire is in the books! We started our day in Memphis, Tennessee, and had to jump on the interstate to make our way to the back roads. We started the day’s timed route in Eastern Arkansas, and spent quite a bit of time on long straight stretches of farm land. Corn, soybeans and rice were popular crops, and we even got to see a few crop dusters making passes alongside our route. The long morning run led to lunch in North Little Rock, Arkansas, where we grabbed a burger and hopped back on the road. Although we saw some rain in the afternoon portion of the route, it cooled things off considerably as we tackled twists, turns and elevation changes. Toward the end of our run, we climbed Petit Jean Mountain, and made a quick stop at the Museum of Automobiles. From there, we made our way into Russellville, Arkansas for an awesome evening stop that was packed with people. As the scores were tallied, we saw yet another single-digit winner…this time it was Brad and Erin Kaplan in their 1966 Ford Mustang with a score of 7 seconds. That makes four different winners in as many days. Lots of Aces and smiling faces at the finish line this evening, as well as a special Great Race couple celebrating 64 years of marriage. Take a look at the pictures and stay tuned for more coverage!

Thanks for a wonderful morning. I just picked my granddaughter’s up in Russellville AR. this morning around 9:30AM. I’m bringing them to Alma, AR. for a visit. So on way back home we were traveling Interstate 40 West and were able to some of these wonderful cars. The granddaughter’s were very impressed by the vintage cars we saw. Ages 5 and 7 and also brought back some memories this 71 year old Grandfather. Thanks for the memories
When y’all post the daily winner names could you also include their car number so we can look them up in our race program?

We stayed at Petit Jean and almost went to the Automobile Museum the day before. We wound up going Tuesday and pulled in right about the time the first cars began pulling in. Having teenagers it was a FANTASTIC day! We were absolutely thrilled to be a small part of this piece of history.
