We’ve visited hundreds of towns in the 30 years that Great Race has been around, but today was one of the best days in Great Race history, in terms of the towns we visited! The crowds were incredible in both our Crowley and Covington stops, here in Louisiana and you wouldn’t believe the awesome food that we were given! The folks in Crowley and Covington took Cajun cooking to a whole new level! We rallied through some of the low lands of Louisiana, seeing a few swamps along the way. We also traveled across the loooooong bridge on I-10 on our way to and from Crowley. When we arrived at lunch, Ed Habetz and Tom Regan were the first in the line of cars, and they certainly got a warm welcome to their home town! The stop in Covington was also packed with spectators, as thousands of folks lined the streets to see each and every car roll through the finish gate. With only one more day of competition remaining, the race is getting tight, and we’re ready to see who will take home the $50,000! For now, check out our favorite shots of the day and be sure to check back tomorrow to find out who wins!!!
Your photos have been outstanding! It’s so obvious how much fun this year’s Great Race has been.
Cannot express the thrill of having the Great Race come to the City of Crowley…Even with the extreme heat, we had a tremendous turnout of both car enthusiasts and spectators to watch this truly memorable event.. it was extremely impressive. We are especially proud of our local competitors, Ed Habetz, and Tom Regan. I can only hope all the competitors enjoyed their brief visit to our historic little city as we enjoyed having them here. Corky was the true showman as he introduced each competitor. Awesome!
I’ve had so much fun following this event especially as it’s came through our neck of the woods in Louisiana. I’m hoping one of our teams from here win today but best of luck to all the teams!
