Seventeen current and past Great Racers gathered at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, California last week as part of the museums tribute to the 2016 Great Race along the Lincoln Highway. A half dozen past Great Race cars are on display and will remain throughout March in the museum. Bill and Carolyn Croker drove all the way down from Northern California to meet with the group. Carolyn reports that the Great Race cars displayed nicely. Veteran Janet Hedke had a lot of great photo albums, information and paraphernalia (stop watch, clock, daily instructions, lap board, etc.) on display.
It was fun seeing Great Race family and catching up, Carolyn said. We use to live in El Segundo 50 years ago when we first started a career with Chevron, so it was fun to see all the old places we use to haunt.
