The Thursday before the start of the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty is always registration and tech inspection day. We had a huge task at hand with 117 cars entered in the race. That means we had nearly 200 vehicles (including staff and support vehicles) to go through our sponsor decal stations. Thankfully, we had a great system for registration, tech inspection and decals, and the fine folks at MotoeXotica allowed us to use their facility. It was a wet and soggy day, so we were thankful to have multiple carports outside the MotoeXotica facility to get everything wrapped up before we ran out of daylight. Inside MotoeXotica was a cool collection of cars, trucks and motorcycles, and they even invited us to check out their second location a few miles away. While at the second location, we were tipped off on a cool race shop next door, so we hopped over there as well. Stay tuned for a photo recap of the awesome car collections and shop tours. For now, we’re looking at today’s tech inspection action, and a special trip to Grant’s Farm for dinner and a tour of the place.
