The 2014 Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty has a $150,000 purse, and lots of folks left our awards banquet with a check in their pocket. With payouts from $1,000 to $50,000, the racers have LOTS of reasons to come back and try again next year. By the way, we’ll tell you a little bit more about next year’s route in a later post. Congrats to all of the winners in all five racing divisions. You guys and gals rocked! Congrats again to Barry and Irene Jason for the overall win (their third in a row!) and a huge congrats to Jim Menneto, Publisher of Hemmings for taking home the Tom McRae Spirit of the Event award! What a great night in The Villages, Florida! Check out all the awards pictures here!

Congratulations to Jeff & Jason F on a race well run. So glad we were able to say hello in PA.
I was at the finish line in The Villages, Florida. The people, the cars and the town, Sumter Landing was great.
Correction: Jeff and ERIC F. Sorry Eric, I am showing my age.

What a great Race! I Have been following it on your web Site from the very beginning. I was there at the finish line in The Villages and had a chance to meet some of the drivers. Fantastic experience! Keep up the good work and now it is time to get some rest after this very successful event… You deserve it!
Best wishes to the staff and congratulations to all the drivers, navigators, logistic support teams and everyone involved in the success of this race!

Congratulations to Joe and Bill Hensler, winners of the Rookie Award. Awesome job guys!!!!!
Met the GR’s in Elizabeth City,NC lunch stop then watched the finish at the Villages. I had a special interest in the 62 Corvair window van (Hippie Van”) since I once owned it. Two great guys driving it and it made the trip with no major problems. Corvairs Rule!!!!!
Great job Craig & Garrett (#24) for your first year!!!
I agree with Ed Bittman about the ’62 Corvair Greenbrier – Easily the most eye-catching of the “Modern” cars. As Ed said, “Corvairs Rule”!!!
One request: Would it be possible to have these photos captioned so we could get an idea of what we’re looking at? Maybe mention names, entry numbers, and the car? Thanks!
