Hello from Martin VROOOM We are a husband/ wife team. Our car is Maxine a red (yes red even if some say another color) 38 Ford Coupe. We are rather new to the sport of rally doing our first event in 2006. Since then we have been hooked on the sport and plan our schedule around the rally events.
For those of you who have never experienced the GREAT fun of the Great Race I say join us Dont be concerned if you dont know much about doing a rally I tell Rookies no one could know less than I did when I started. I had never seen or heard of a rally. I remember after attending the rally school I was so confused and was just counting the time till it would be over. Well, after one day of the event and actually jumping in I was counting the time NOT wanting it to be over. With advice and much guidance from the Veterans we actually did understand what was happening and knew we found an activity that we would want to continue.
When Corky announced the dates for the 2011 Great Race last September I thought it was so long away. (I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas!!) Now I realize how fast the time has gone by and that it is only 11 weeks away. The closer the time the more excited we are to be part of a monumental event. Im anxious to get back on the road, drive the miles and share the smiles with our rally family. Notice I said family because it is a family of car, travel, game and adventure enthusiasts.
I have checked my rally items clock, stopwatch, highlighters (blue & pink) charts etc and have all in my rally box so I could be ready at a moments notice to go. Gary tasks are to have Maxine ready for the event. He tells me she will be ready but as the attached picture shows it looks like there are things to be done. I hope my next posting will show a picture of Maxine all back together and ready to go.
How is number 78 coming along??
