The Automotive/Restoration Club of Sun City West has now opened Phase I of their new John S. Chaney Restoration Center. This is a 6,000 square foot building designed for restoration. The 2016 Great Race will have 5 entrants based out of this club competing. Again this year will be Don Kloth in his 1930 Speedster, Herb Clark and his wife Pat in their 1951 GMC Truck, Tom and Suzanne Jones in their 1960 Ford, Dick and Beth Crabtree in their 1939 Buick convertible, and in the X Cup Dysart High School. Also in attendance was Mel Martin, who participated in the Great Race in the 1980s.
The Restoration Center held it’s Grand Opening on February 27th. Coker Tire’s President Wade Kawasaki was one of the guest speakers. Wade charmed the crowd of just over 2,000 spectators with his talk about the importance of training youth to become the stewards of our classics in the future. We thank Wade and Coker Tire for their support.
ARC is a 501 C(3) organization devoted to passing on the skills of its senior members to the next generation.
Was great to see the new building that the club members will be able to use and pass along knowledge to further the love and passion for the next generations of enthusiasts. Grandad must be smiling at the progress. Still more phases to complete. See link http://restoration.scwclubs.com/contact-us/pledge/
