Great Racers know Jody Knowles as quiet but hard charging driver of the #66 red 1932 Ford Cabriolet. He and his navigator, Beth Gentry, have finished in the top three in three of the last four Great Races. They have also dominated the Coker Tire Challenge in recent years as well by winning twice in the last few years.
But Jody has been doing some different kind of racing lately. He competed in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway in Ohio last week. Yes, that NASCAR Truck Series against the likes of Ron Hornaday, Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, Jeb Burton, Bubba Wallace, Ryan Blaney, Ken Schrader, Ty Dillon, Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton and Michael Annett.
Jody finished 28th, but he was running in the Top 15 late in the race before being penalized for getting out of line on a restart. He had to do a pass through on pit road and fell a lap down. Wallace won the race followed by Hornaday, Blaney and Schrader.
Jody plans on running at Bristol Motor Speedway on Wednesday, Aug. 20, in the truck race. It can be seen at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox Sports 1.
I’ll be watching Aug. 20 to see Jody run at Bristol!
