This is what the Great Race is all about…moving up from class to class until you reach the top of the heap! Chad Nelson was one of the first X-Cup guys back in the day and even though his school is no longer involved in the event, he has continued to keep young people involved in building old cars and taking them on the race.
Last year, he and Brandon Schindler were the top X-Cup team. This year, they are entering as a private entry and will compete in the Sportsman Class. They’re building a 1928 Ford Model A speedster, complete with the original Flathead four-cylinder engine. It’s sure to be a cool piece when it’s complete, so we can’t wait to see it in St. Paul when it makes its first appearance at technical inspection! A big thanks goes out to Chad to keeping the youth involved in the Great Race!
I have a set of the great race I received them back in 1993. They have never been opened. can you tell me what the value is. Thanks
