Founded in Lockport, NY in 1978 by Douglas McIntosh, MACs is the dominant source of parts for Model T, Model A, and Ford V8 vehicles. By the late 1990s MACs covered all Ford and Mercurys from 1909 to the 1970s. Last week, Ecklers, a large parts supplier for many classic cars announced its purchase of Mac’s Antique Auto Parts. This makes Eckler’s the leading source of restoration parts and accessories in Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche, and Mercedes vehicles. Matt Jordan, Ecklers CEO, noted Were thrilled about the opportunity with MACs. Both companies bring terrific strengths. Combined with our 2010 acquisition of Dearborn Classics this acquisition positions us to serve all Ford restoration enthusiasts with the broadest, most complete selection of Ford parts available.
Great Race supporter and participant, Rick McIntosh (President of MACs) said I am very excited, both personally and for MACs, by the opportunity to join the Ecklers team. We believe that our new combined company will bring together unsurpassed resources and experience to offer an outstanding customer value and service experience.
Eckler Industries is owned by Baird Capital Partners. Gordon Pan, managing partner at Baird, commented MACs is a great fit to secure Ecklers position as a leader in the Ford restoration market. The Ecklers management team and Baird are committed to building on its core strengths to support customers for all Ford and GM models with a complete selection of restoration parts and accessories, world class customer service and unsurpassed technical support. We will continue to broaden and grow our business through additional complementary acquisitions and natural product line expansion.
