Our friends at Quick Everett’s Garage are long-time supporters of the Great Race. The Chattanooga, Tennessee-based auto repair shop offers maintenance and repairs on domestic, foreign and even electric vehicles, as well as Great Race vehicle preparation. Even with a busy shop schedule, Perry Freeman and Hal Everett hit the road for two weeks every year to travel with the Great Race.

Perry Freeman is responsible for the sweep truck, which follows the route and picks up any broken-down racers. If the car can be fixed, he will make his best attempt on the side of the road, but if it’s too severe for a roadside repair, he loads it on the Great Race trailer and takes it to the evening stop city.

Hal Everett’s job on the Great Race has covered the entire spectrum, but his presence is vital every year. Whether he’s in charge of setting up our city stops or involved in late night mechanical antics in the hotel parking lot, Hal has been a valued member of the Great Race family since 2011. Perry and Hal bring a lot to the table for the Great Race, and we’re so thankful of their continued support going into 2024. Perry and Hal use their mechanical knowledge and charming personalities to keep participants going for the 2,300 mile adventure each year and we’re ready to put them to work as soon as we arrive in Owensboro, Kentucky in June.
