The Stahls Automotive Foundation is a passion project of Ted and Mary Stahl, who are long-time supporters of the Great Race, both in sponsorship and in participation. Ted and Mary Stahl devote a tremendous amount of effort into the Great Race each year, and they have a huge family presence. They bring an entourage of children, grandchildren and close friends for two weeks every summer to join us for the Great Race.

In addition to the Great Race, Stahls Automotive Foundation sponsors the Great Race Spring Regional Rally. We debuted this regional event in 2023 in Auburn, Indiana, and designed it to move locations each year. For 2024, the Great Race Spring Regional Rally will be held at Stahls Automotive Foundation’s headquarters in Chesterfield, Michigan on May 3-5. Along with intense rallying during the three-day event, participants will be able to get the full experience at Ted Stahls incredible museum, which features more than 80 cars, ranging from early automobiles from the 1880’s to classics and muscle cars of the 1960’s. In addition to cars, the Stahls museum features music machines, which are restored and operational automated musical instruments from the 1900’s. Automotive memorabilia is another highlight of the collection.

Stahls Automotive Foundation is open on Tuesdays from 1-4pm as well as the first Saturday of each month from 11am to 4pm. There is no admission charge, but donations are welcomed. Find out more at www.stahlsauto.com.
