Jeff Mahl can always draw a crowd when he starts telling stories about 1908 New York to Paris race his great-grandfather won. And at Hershey last week it was no different.
The crowd Mahl drew was at the Great Race tent at Hershey the first time the race was represented at the iconic swap meet in more than a decade. And the stories he told were making even the most intent swap meet shopper stop for while. He was there to promote the release of his new DVD about the 1908 race.
For those wanting more, they could buy the newly-released DVD on the original Great Race, called The Great Race New York to Paris 1908. The Coker Group and the Great Race partnered with Mahl to produce the video, and those attending the 11 a.m. announcement Friday at Hershey were the first to see it.
George Schuster used to tell his great-grandson stories of how he got involved in the 1908 race when Mahl was a youngster. Schuster died at the age of 99 in 1972, but his story now lives on through Mahl and the video, which is full of the most wonderful black and white photography from the era.
Copies of the video are available for $19.95, so CLICK HERE for more information.
I would like to purchase 2 copies of the DVD on the original Great Race, called The Great Race New York to Paris 1908. produced by The Coker Group and the Great Race partnered with Jeff Mahl. Please let me know how to make this purchase. Paypal would be fine. Thanks. Teresa Bundrum
