For the first time in more than a decade, the Great Race will return to the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey, Pa., next week. Known all over the car world as Hershey, the event is attended by thousands of vendors and tens of thousands of spectators.
And, back in the day, you could always count on seeing someone at the Great Race booth. After Tom McRae sold the Great Race its visibility at Hershey disappeared. Our great friend Tommy Hudson of Tommys Trailers would have some Great Race information at his space on occasion, but a dedicated space just for the Great Race was missing.
After attending last years Hershey meet it became evident how huge the Great Race name was in the car hobby. Everyone has either participated in it, has seen it or knows about it.
The space will be staffed by race director Jeff Stumb, and he will have apparel and a television with Great Race video from the 2012 event playing the entire time from Wednesday, Oct. 10, through Saturday, Oct. 13. The space is located in the Chocolate Field next to Coker Tire at C21, space 76. Stop by if you are in Hershey next week.
Where do I get rules of the great race?
