The Thursday before the start of the Hemmings Motor News Great Race presented by Hagerty is always a busy day. Our staff and volunteers hustle all day long to get everyone registered, inspected and ready to ride. It makes for a long day, but that’s what it takes to make the event happen. We inspect each car to determine it’s scored year (based on the engine and transmission), and then we perform a safety inspection and apply the event and sponsor decals on each car. Repeat this about 120 times and you have quite the action packed day. We didn’t have any social gatherings or meetings this evening, so it was a night on the town for most of the Great Racers and staff. Tomorrow will be another busy day, as we’ll have a couple of gatherings, and a warm up rally, which we call the Hagerty Trophy Run. This year, the Trophy Run features a hosted lunch stop–we’re excited to be making a stop in Lockport, New York to get the action started. We anticipate a great turnout! Take a look at a few photos from today’s action, and get ready for more as we get closer to the green flag!
Love looking at the cars. Today I looked at a 1965 mgb. Hope to make it to owls head
