Parks–we saw a bunch of them today. Guernsey State Park, Buffalo Gap National Grasslands, Custer State Park, Black Hills National Forest and the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Yeah, we hit them all! We were once again blown away with the scenery, but sometimes pictures don’t do it justice. You just have to see this stuff to believe it and soak it all in, and that’s exactly what we did today.
Recreation–we got our fair share of recreation today, with a great lunch stop in Lusk, Wyoming, and then had the ultimate party in downtown Rapid City, South Dakota. The Great Race evening stop was in conjunction with Rapid City’s Thursday night concert series called, “Summer Nights”. Well over 10,000 people flooded the streets of Rapid City and surrounded the Great Racers as they rolled in. The band, “32 Below” kept the crowd rockin’ as the cars filled every available space. Despite another tough day of rallying, we saw some amazing scores, with Louise and Jim Feeney, taking home the daily victory. That makes our sixth different daily winner in six days of rallying. Who’s going to come out on top??? We’ll find out soon but for now, enjoy our favorite shots from Day 6 of the Great Race, as we traveled from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Rapid City, South Dakota.
